Description:
Bacardi 8 year-old single barrel. One of two single barrels released for the state of Florida, and I got to pick first. When I’m picking Bourbon Barrels, I tend to go for vanilla, brown sugar and other sweet notes, as opposed to something with a high rye content. I was able to get all the characteristics I normally look for without it being too sweet. This is an all purpose bottle if ever I had one. You can drink it strait up, on the rocks, with Coca-Cola or in a bourbon based cocktail like my favorite, an old fashioned. I have picked barrels of Bourbon, Whiskey, Tequila, and Irish Whiskey but this is my first rum pick. With any luck, it won’t be my last.
